50 minutes in.
All boards active.
All even on material.
All close on time.
All positions ... well, too bad I don't know anything about chess, or I would tell you. I think Christian offered a queen's gambit to Schmakel, and Schmakel accepted the gambit. Very soon, Schmakel had knight, bishop and rook out in the middle of the board (not the center, just spread across the space in front of the pawns), and Christian had his queen out. This looks unusual to me. I've gotten accustomed to seeing the top boards, especially, with intricate pawn structures and all the pieces arrayed behind the lines, shifting around in inscrutable little steps.
